The Resilience Index is a carefully selected indicator that measures and compares the resilience of destinations.

Current

The Resilience Index brings together a set of resilience indicators that reflect the ability of destinations to withstand, adapt to, and recover from crises. The development process combined three stages:

  1. Literature Review – An initial long list of indicators was identified from existing academic and policy studies.

  2. Stakeholder Workshops – Through participatory discussions with destination stakeholders, the most relevant and context-specific indicators were selected.

  3. Survey Results – Insights from surveys helped refine and validate the indicators.

With the Resilience Index, destination stakeholders can see how resilient they are across different areas, spot their main strengths and weaknesses, find activities to improve, and compare their results with other destinations in the project.

The index is currently in its final stage of development. The project team is collecting and verifying the availability of data sources that will form the final Resilience Index.
