The past project year marked an important phase in the development of ReMoDe, with significant progress in empirical research, resilience indicator development, and stakeholder engagement across the Austrian and Georgian study regions.

A key achievement was the completion of tourism business surveys in Kaunertal, Austria, and Mestia, Georgia, with 44 businesses participating in Kaunertal and 61 in Mestia. The surveys provided valuable primary data on local tourism structures, infrastructure, governance, energy systems, and destination perceptions.

Building on the literature review, stakeholder workshops, and survey findings, the project also finalized its resilience indicator framework, covering economic, social, institutional, infrastructural, ecological, and cultural dimensions. Work on integrating primary and secondary data into the ReMoDe Resilience Index is now underway.

The project further strengthened academic cooperation through the doctoral college in Innsbruck and continued developing doctoral structures in Georgia. In parallel, the launch of the official ReMoDe website and ongoing communication activities increased the project’s visibility and supported knowledge exchange. Preparations also began for the next phase of international exchange, including mutual visits between Kaunertal and Mestia, which will further strengthen learning and collaboration between the Alps and the Caucasus.
