The ReMoDe project participated in the Regional Mountain Conference 2026 in Obergurgl, Austria, bringing together researchers and practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge and perspectives on mountain regions.

Project Lead Sarah Schönherr and Project Co-Lead Gvantsa Salukvadze presented the project’s latest work, including progress on the development of the Resilience Index for mountain tourism destinations and empirical findings from the project’s case studies in Mestia, Georgia, and Kaunertal, Austria. The presentations highlighted how data-driven approaches can contribute to strengthening resilience and supporting sustainable development in mountain tourism regions.

The conference also provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and engagement with broader international discussions on the future of mountain regions and resilient mountain tourism development.
